This role is part of the recently created Data, Technology and Innovation (DTI) Finance team. Key member of the FP&A team, responsible for Engineering, Architecture, Data Operations, Data Science, and Innovation for the S&P enterprise. The person will provide decision support, design / implement operating frameworks and planning processes to ensure the highest returns on the delivery of the industry's best data ingestion & distribution platform. This is an opportunity to work closely with the DTI leadership team, along with stakeholders from across the enterprise. The role will inform and impact the Company's short-term operating plan and long-term strategic agenda. This role will facilitate, by working closely with Data and Technology teams, the deployment of secure, scalable, cloud-based technologies & machine learning to source, ingest, link, transform and analyze conventional & alternative data sources, to provide the critical benchmarks, analytics, and unique insights essential for our customers to make decisions with conviction. Responsibilities:
Provides financial direction to the business and contributes to both the optimization of technology spend (Engineering, Infrastructure, Innovation, etc.) and the long-term strategic direction of the business, in collaboration with Functional and Divisional leads.
Supports monthly forecasting (Estimate) and annual budgeting process for global DTI organization, working with the head of DTI and his direct reports. Analyze and develop financial projections and risks & opportunities. Manage preparation and/or review of presentation decks and variance commentary for senior management and Corporate. Develops and maintains comprehensive and transparent financial model of the business for the short and long term.
Work with Enterprise FP&A Center of Excellence to drive shareholder value and determine allocation approach to Divisions
Work with the Corporate Development team and Technology leads to screen M&A opportunities and develop valuation models.
Assist with strategic investments, ad hoc requests, special projects, on an as-needed basis.
Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
6 years+' financial analysis and accounting experience.
Experience supporting a large multi-national business preferred.
Strong skills in MS Excel (Pivot tables, V-Lookups) and PowerPoint.
Experience with CPM tools such as Anaplan and Cognos TM1 preferred.
Sound knowledge of financial techniques for planning, forecasting, and related analyses.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as a fully contributing member of a team.
Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
Experience working in technology finance
