The position reports to Sr. Manager, Market Risk Models, within MV.
Detailed accountabilities include:
Perform independent initial and ongoing validations of Market Risk VaR /Derivative Pricing/Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) models across TD's global trading business, including Interest Rate, Equity, FX, Credit and Commodity derivatives.
Prepare corresponding initial/ongoing validation reports outlining model assumptions, analytical methodologies and assessments, computational methods and test results.
Develop/implement validation methodologies and standards. Ensure that the validation methodologies and standards are in line with industry best practice or address regulatory and audit requirements and/or findings in a timely manner.
Maintain full professional knowledge of techniques and developments in the field of Market Risk VaR (FRTB), derivative pricing, Counterparty Credit Risk/CVA/FVA/XVA, and share knowledge with business partners and senior management.
The position involves working effectively with different internal partners such as Quantitative Engineering Group in TDS Front Office (FO), Model Development (MD) Group, and IT support teams for MD and FO; to ensure the appropriateness and accuracy of models used by the bank
Ensure all credit decisions(approval / decline) within assigned limits are fulfilled on a broad range of credit products efficiently and effectively, meeting service level agreements (SLAs)
Provide credit support / solutions / recommendations / advice / alternative options when evaluating/analyzing credit applications for decisions in accordance with Bank policies and procedures
Ensure customer concerns / issues are handled appropriately and resolved in a timely manner, escalate when required
Positively contribute to the overall customer experience and foster good relationships with internal and external partners
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the customer experience within the Business Area Create and/or recognize exceptional customer service through established programs
Prioritize and manage own daily workload to meet SLA requirements for service and productivity
Consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; escalate issues where required
Make well rationalized credit decisions within established standards and limits and adjudicate within compliance guideline
Contribute to the achievement of satisfactory audits by understanding & following audit and process guidelines
Ensure credit underwriting / adjudication is completed accurately and properly to reflect business intentions and is consistent with relevant rules / regulations
Be knowledgeable of practices and procedures within own area of responsibility and keep abreast of emerging credit underwriting / adjudication trends
Protect the interests of the organization - identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk activities as necessary
Acquire, maintain and apply Credit and Risk expertise in the discipline of lending, provide guidance, assistance and direction to others
Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
Perform due diligence in support of all credit applications
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
Undergraduate degree preferred and/or
2+ years relevant experience
Excellent knowledge of pricing theory, statistics, stochastic calculus and numerical techniques used in derivative pricing (PDE/trees, Monte Carlo simulation, optimization) as well as Market Risk VaR and CCR/CVA modeling techniques and parameters calibration techniques.
Proficient in relevant programming languages such as C/C++ and VBA is required.
Excellent ability to write comprehensive technical documents is required.
Excellent quantitative skills with background in one of the following areas: mathematics, physics, engineering, computational finance, statistics.
Fast learner who grasps complex concepts and techniques quickly and works independently under tight deadlines.
Good time management skills with minimal supervision.

BREADTH & DEPTH
First level professional role with focus on performing credit underwriting / adjudication on a board range of moderately complex credit products
Provides authorization required for credit adjudication based on the Bank's Discretionary Lending limits criteria
Intermediate knowledge on credit products, end-to-end credit processes and systems for own specialized area
Intermediate knowledge and understanding of the operating environment, business process and procedures, and transaction lifecycle for own area (e.g., processing environment, applications, software, hardware, products)
Intermediate level knowledge with some form of related training and/or related experience or skills
Ability to execute on routine requests
Identifies key operational / reporting / process issues for own area
Provides thorough analysis and/or specialized reporting or operational/process support
Requires general understanding of the overall function and/or businesses supported
Requires some understanding of complexity in operational / reporting / process and/or analysis function
Completes work within specifically defined parameters with guidance / direction from management as necessary
