Our client is a global real estate investor with c£4bn AUM with a successful European business which is headquartered in the UK and also has offices across Europe. They manage a number of high profile assets across the region and have significant capital to continue investing, mainly value-add / opportunistic strategies within most commercial real estate assets classes.
They have a real estate debt team which is responsible for sourcing and structuring debt for their equity investment strategies, due to contunuing expansion they need to hire an associate to support the head of real estate debt.
Provide support to the Head of Real Estate Finance, Europe in relation to the underwriting, structuring and execution of single and/or pan-European debt transaction.
Together with the Financial Analyst, provide support to Head of Real Estate Finance, Europe in overviewing the debt committee process.
Liaising with internal and external key stakeholders to the European Business to ensure the highest degree of debt underwriting and execution is continuously maintained.
Assist in underwriting, evaluation and execution of debt transactions including procuring terms from lenders Identifying target lenders;
Underwriting and evaluating of debt transactions including financial analysis of debt transactions; Interact professionally with internal and external key stakeholders to facilitate information delivery and a speedy completion of the debt transaction;
Analyse formal financial offers and liaise directly with lenders; Assist in the completion of debt transactions.
Assist in determining hedging strategies Participate openly and proactively in networking with both clients and lenders Maintain a sound knowledge of the commercial real estate lending market by engaging regularly with lenders, networking as appropriate and attending external meetings with lenders.
Together with the Financial Analyst assist in the preparation of approval papers for debt related transactions or financial analysis for internal meetings – Including market research
Participate in pipeline meetings, internal discussions and debt committees.
Strong financial modelling skills;
4+ years of experience in Commercial Real Estate Finance, preferably in structured loan origination or underwriting;
High level of analytical & underwriting skills; Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently; Excellent written English and report writing skills;
Foreign language skills are desirable;
Travel may be required.
