We are looking for an experienced New York-based Communications Manager to join a team dedicated to raising the profile and maintaining the reputation of S&P Global Ratings, one of the four divisions that make up S&P Global. Your core responsibilities will be managing media relationships in North America within the broader strategy set by the Head of Communications for S&P Global Ratings; you will also be part of a team that leads employee communications for the division. You will have a team behind you willing to flex and support your work, as you will for them.

You understand financial markets. You have strong press relationships in North America and are very familiar with its media landscape. You will work with stakeholders and team members across regions; aligning with Marketing; and creating and delivering messages externally and internally that illuminate S&P Global Ratings strategic direction, image and brand. You will also have a strong understanding of how to work in a regulated environment.
The Role: Media Relations- Raise and support the overall media visibility for the insight, data, ratings, research, and analysis published by S&P Global Ratings leveraging your existing relationship with key financial market journalists. Public Relations- Develop strong relationships with key internal stakeholders while exploring opportunities to engage public influencers. Strategic Message Development- Lead the creation of key messaging that will resonate both internally and externally with key stakeholders. Internal Communications- Generate compelling and creative employee-focused content aligned with the core goals, objectives and success measures of S&P Global Ratings.
The Impact: You will be a part of a well-established, strong and dynamic communications group who can flex between external and internal communications. You will have the opportunity to bring greater transparency to the markets by promoting our research and analysis, while also being an external spokesperson for key products and business objectives. You will help employees access the right information at the right time so they can work more effectively to bring products to market.
The Career Opportunity: The right candidate for this role has 8-10 years of experience developing and executing media relations strategies and tactics. You will have experience in executing on internal communications plan and understand the complexities in working within a regulated environment.

Exceptional understanding of the media, as well as an appreciation of their deadlines and requirements
Excellent writing, communications and organizational skills
Experience in managing crisis situations
Strong knowledge of internal communications strategies, execution and tactics
Strong knowledge of the financial markets and strong desire to keep learning
Experience in creating articles for internal platforms or Company intranet
Extensive media contact list across broadcast, digital and print. Proactive, tactical and creative in crafting strategy
Knowledge of current news and events that impact the economy and markets
Knowledge of PR tools such as Roxhill is a plus
Experience utilizing LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter to amplify voice
Knowledge of basic graphic design is a plus
