What You'll Be Doing
As the Consultant of Third Party Risk Management, Global Operational Risk, you will support the maintenance of the Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) Framework, Policy, and Methodology and the operation of the TPRM program within CIBC. This will include monitoring compliance to the Policy as well as reviewing policies and related documents with relevant stakeholders. To ensure the program remains current, the incumbent will monitor relevant regulatory developments, conduct industry benchmarking, and assess the program's and the bank's alignment to those developments. Additionally, the incumbent will support the development and coordination of appropriate governance structures and processes. Accountabilities will also include supporting the consolidation of enterprise TPRM reporting and conducting reviews/challenges of all critical third party arrangements. In this role, you collaborate with, and provide guidance and challenge to the Third Party Governance Office within Corporate Services, the bank-wide Control Functions and the third party Relationship Managers within the businesses. You are a strong communicator and advisor that is able to describe risk concepts, raise awareness, escalate issues, and summarize results for diverse audiences within our bank and to external partners. You will also assist in providing regular reporting to senior executive management and CIBC's Board of Directors on program governance, progress and risk assessments.
How You'll Succeed
Leadership - Collaborating with the Third Party Governance Office in Corporate Services, you will be a trusted advisor and support the effective implementation of a bank-wide TPRM strategy and support efficiency and effectiveness of TPRM processes within CIBC. You will also be a champion for the TPRM strategy within CIBC.
Delivering Results - As a pro-active risk manager, you will work across business lines, functional groups and control functions to create awareness, engagement and focus on the TPRM program requirements. This may include conducting benchmarking, gap analyses, preparing written reports and escalating issues. You will be responsible to identify gaps and collaborate with the business on the development and execution of remediation plans to address any gaps. You will continuously provide assessments on the effectiveness of the program and you must be comfortable authoring memos, reports, and/or presentations for internal audiences (various executives across the bank) and the Board.
Innovation - As a flexible and creative thinker, you will drive change and help maintain an effective TPRM program that allows CIBC to fulfill its purpose-driven mission to help make ambitions a reality. This will include generating new ideas that support CIBC's goal of an effective, efficient and radically simple Third Party Risk Management program.
Reviewing - Review and update TPRM policies, standards and procedures applicable to CIBC's global operations for executive management (and Board of Directors, as appropriate) review and approval.
Understanding - Support the execution of a strategy and associated tactical program to maintain a high level of awareness within CIBC of the TPRM policy requirements and ensure they are effectively communicated to all required audiences.
