Job Description: As a Product Solution Architect , you will be part of a Cognizant team that is focused on the delivery and implementation of Core Banking Solutions and other finance related application solutions for Cognizant's clients. You will spend a majority of your time consulting directly with our clients and developing line of business solutions. You will also have the opportunity to work with the latest Product technologies and solutions in enterprise-level environments. You will architect, design, and implement high-quality product and platform solutions.
Provide Architecture consultation (Business + Product + Technology) to multiple accounts
Lead solution/application architecture for large engagements & deliver technically complex applications
Strong focus on Integration architecture between products and the wider IT estate including CI/CD
Translate wide spectrum of experience gained from multiple engagement into tangible knowledge assets
Work closely with the Product experts for optimal solutions architecturally
Key Result Areas
Consult and build technical/enterprise architecture for products and related solutions
Conceive and ensure adoption of reusable components/design patterns across multiple engagements
Lead and deliver technically complex applications from technical aspects
Researching new technology/packages/COTS solutions, utilizing insights gained from various customers to compare and suggest suitable options
Provide estimates for 'sufficiently' large engagements taking into consideration, organization benchmark/guidelines, re-use of best practices / tools
Play active role in talent acquisition for the practice, knowledge creation and dissemination through trainings, mentoring etc.
Mentor & manage a group of Product consultants to enhance performance and develop them for higher responsibilities
Actively participate and lead in responding to RFI/RFPs and other critical presales /post sales activities pertinent to Product CoE
Typical Responsibilities Business / Customer
Conversant with architectural patterns, integration patterns and possess wide knowledge of third party tools & frameworks which can be effectively positioned to solve a customer need.
Work with the customer to define scope at the overall project or product level based on the vision for the project/program
Map customer expectations during vision definition and align the same to the definition of deliverables
Understand the implicit customer pain points and translate them into business opportunities by providing value added services for customers
Provide architecture consulting to customers in the areas of application architecture, system architecture and integration architecture
Present the value proposition of chosen architectural solution, tools and frameworks including end to end automation clearly and succinctly to the customer
Assess, prioritize and manage customer expectations and needs from an architecture perspective
Resolve conflicts related to IP and customer confidentiality
Build relationships with technical team/leadership team of customer
Influence /provide inputs to customers on significant technology decisions
Ensure that assets and knowledge repositories are created, maintained and updated, with lessons learnt and best practices identified, and utilized to enhance effectiveness to build competitive advantage
Act as an enabler/evangelist within the organization to propagate benefits of knowledge management
Identify the technology capability building needs at an organizational level and ensure that the career development plans/paths are well aligned with the same
Ensure consistent re-usability of tools and best practices across the organization
Leads IP creation within the organization
Structure and deliver documentation for complex systems targeted at wider audience
Conduct periodic reviews of performance deliverables and acts on them promptly
Validate, review and audit different architecture for the best of the breed in the industry
Create a case studies/whitepapers on System Architecture recommendations.
Set/ provide direction in the architecture space to the organization
Establish design patterns and standards
Provide technical guidance to project teams
Define the overall integration architecture.
Foresee integration bottlenecks early in the life cycle and plan to manage the same
Provide a complete architectural roadmap for technology consulting engagements
Provide migration strategies across different technologies
Compare various tools and recommend the best fit for the engagements
Develop frameworks for development that improves productivity and re-usability
Identify and define the assumptions and risks associated with the estimates and the impact on the effort estimates due to changes in them from a technology point of view
Understand the impact of CR and provide inputs for re-estimation
Utilizes 'resources' effectively to deliver within the budgeted effort
Use organizational assets and implement best practices and reusable assets to execute the program effectively
Possess awareness of industry trends in terms of identified product and technology
Possess hands-on experience of technical services, solutions and products provided by one or more LOBs and business segments
Identify gaps and suggest requirements for various business scenarios for complex business systems / processes
Participate in design and conceptualization of business prototypes and wireframes
People / Team
Mentor, groom and train Lead Consultants and Specialists.
Create training programs on system architecture and design
Build relationships with multiple units or teams across the organization to facilitate effective working of own team
Address conflicts and disagreements in an open manner and work to resolve them
Bring together teams across locations and facilitate resolution of complex, inter-related problems
Ensure people development by sharing constructive feedback to address under performance/unacceptable behavior , providing challenging assignments and grooming for higher responsibilities
Ensure that training and development plans of team(s) are met by creating appropriate development plans/opportunities
Exhibit capability to interview / assess candidates by using multiple techniques
Degree of Independence/Supervision required
Requires minimal supervision on the job
Refers to supervisor typically for exceptions
Team Management Responsibilities
May require to manage a team of 4-5 comprising of Lead PC and Product Specialists
Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication, and time management skills
15+ years of experience in Banking & Financial services incl. COTS Product experience
Knowhow of the Temenos product will be added advantage
General understanding of full lifecycle development of a core banking application (installation, configuration, customization, and deployment)
