Change Recruitment are working with an innovative, dynamic Financial Services client based here in Edinburgh who are looking for a Credit Risk Specialist.
In this role, you will be responsible for undertaking analysis across all credit risk portfolios or subject matter to forecast bad debt and help stakeholders to understand how the business might grow safely within risk appetite and/or create value to our shareholders
Key duties and responsibilities
Using specialist subject matter expertise and knowledge of data, systems, processes and products to develop a range of analytical approaches to forecast bad debt performance
Collaborating positively and constructively with a broad group of stakeholders to bring my specialist expertise and insight to bear on a range of initiatives and business issues that are deemed consistent with our business objectives
Using specialist knowledge for delivering or contributing to the successful delivery of projects and initiatives where expertise is crucial to that success
Providing expert consultancy support, where needed, across the wider risk management team
Agreeing prioritisation of workstack items with my line manager in accordance with team objectives
Ideal skills/ experience
Experience within a credit risk function or similar analytical function in financial services
Strong numeracy and problem solving skills
Proficiency in data extraction and manipulation using SAS programming and MS Excel
Effective communication skills using a range of tools
Strong knowledge of credit risk processes and systems
Expert knowledge of specific subject matter area
Experience with SAS or other statistical package.
Highly numerate evidenced by honours degree in relevant subject
