We are currently representing a Family Office who are looking to hire an Investment Analyst for their team located here in London.
This Analyst will be both a sector generalist as well as having a particular focus on Life Sciences (biotech and pharma).
Reporting directly to the CIO/Director of the company.
Portfolio Management, working alongside the CIO.
Will involve discussion on asset allocation, risk management, stock preferences and potential trade ideas.
Creating investment and financial reports for new deals and preparing presentations for Senior Management, as well as reviewing the current investment pipeline on a quarterly basis.
Assessing the short term and long-term impact on the current investment positions, including: summarising quarterly earnings; summarising announcements, and analysis on significant financial factors.
Dealing with internal stakeholder including: company management and investor relations.
Completing research to advise about investing in securities and industry sectors, including: modelling future assumptions; maintaining financial models; constructing company valuations using various methodology (DCF, multiples, SOTP etc), and analysing financial statements.
Evaluating and Presenting the strengths and weaknesses of prospective investments in the bio-medical space, preparing financial models and valuations.
Sourcing and conducting due diligence on prospective Venture Capital and Private Equity investment opportunities. Building strong relationships with GPs/ Investors/ Consultants/ Advisors.
Attending conferences and seminars to keep up-to-date with the latest information/trends.
Required skills and experience:
Excellent academics, including at least a bachelor's degree, preferably in Economics or Natural Science(s).
Ideally more than 2 years experience as an analyst / in equity research
Must have covered Pharmaceutical/biotechnology Investments
Additional knowledge of human physiological systems and medicine preferred.
Strong analytical skills and an independent thinker.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Willing to travel (in the UK and internationally).
