Global Transaction Services (GTS) comprises of Cash & Trade, Securities Services and Fiduciary Services. In an increasingly borderless world marked by burgeoning trade flow, expertise in trade finance services is an invaluable asset. With cash the lifeblood of every company, so too, is a good understanding of how to manage these cashflows. Trade Finance, together with Cash Management, is the mainstay of GTS, and is extended to SME and corporate clients for their local and cross-border financial transaction needs.
Role: The selected candidate is to join the Global Transaction Banking Services (GTS) Trade Product Management Team, taking the lead of new Trade Risk & Capital Management function reporting to Global Head of Trade Product Management. The candidates main responsibility is to oversee and govern the management of Risks & Capital Requirements for the entire suite of documentary & open account trade products across the group.
Trade Capital Management
Develop and implement a forward looking view to manage balance sheet & liquidity needs for the group-wide trade franchise leveraging data analytics
Drive ongoing trade balance sheet optimisation strategy & decisioning including asset origination & redistribution, unlocking opportunities from currency/tenor mismatches etc
Work with group heads of Trade, Cash Management & DBS Corporate Treasury to substantiate GALCO & Balance sheet Management discussions to optimise institutional results
Manage the change and business impacts of FTP policy, providing Management insights to address any issues
Liaise with Group Portfolio Analytics & other functions to unlock RWA & Capital benefits of Trade business
Provision of subject matter expertise in the ALCO, RWA, Regulatory capital domains, from commercial to operational risk governance for Trade
Trade Risk Management
Establish & operationalise a group-wide framework to manage end-to end risks for the trade finance business - spanning from Fraud, Money Laundering (AML), Terrorism Financing (CFT), Sanctions & Operational Risks
Drive Group-wide taskforce to implement new regulatory requirements on Trade based AML/ CFT liaising with Compliance, Operations and other functions
Provide oversight on development & implementation of next generation AML/ Fraud risk management tools liaising with Technology and other internal/external partners
Responsible to ensure relevant policy, process governance is in place for Trade Products across locations with adherence to highest standards as defined by both external and internal requirements
Ensure audit & compliance issues relating to Trade Products are resolved in a timely manner
Keep abreast of market developments, changing regulatory landscape, horizon business risks, opportunities and propose first mover action plan
The ideal candidate would have
At least 10-15 years of relevant experience - preferably in banking/consulting domains
Strong domain knowledge in Trade products, experience in capital & balance sheet management, risk management
A strong degree from a recognized university - Post graduate qualifications preferred
Strong Leadership qualities to be able to initiate and build a nascent team
Demonstrated Team management experience
