Planet are looking for a Compliance Officer to expand the compliance function to support our business in Paris and other EU jurisdiction.
The main requirements for the role holder will be to assist the Head of Compliance in the day to day running and facilitation of the function for the European payments business business. In particular the business must maintain compliance to the ACPR issued licence. This requires a good, constantly up-to-date knowledge of local laws and regulations and a service provider approach to front office staff.
What you will do
Drive the development of an independent 2nd Line of Defence Compliance function in France
Ensure the function fits into group's overall Risk Management Framework and play a key role in the identification and management of regulatory risk in France
Act as the France MLRO in relation to reporting suspicious activity to the various financial intelligent agencies as determined by the ACPR license
Act as primary contact for regulators in France
Report regularly to the Planet Payments France board and the Head of Compliance for the payments business in Europe on risk and compliance issues including, new business proposals KYC and AML
Act as the single point of contact for regulatory risk and Compliance related matters to the ACPR , law enforcement and other regulatory agencies
Ensure all reporting to the ACPR is accurate and on time
To define, develop and refine an independent Compliance monitoring program for the payments entity in France and EU jurisdictions which will complement and inform the Risk Framework and Internal Audit Programme
Liaise with the wider Risk team, Internal Audit, Finance and Operations as required
Working under the direction of the Head of Compliance - Europe to ensure risk management continues to be a part of the DNA of the business in France and Europe – embedding a positive culture of confident and informed risk taking through training, communication and promotion of the agreed risk framework.
Who you are
A highly motivated Compliance professional looking for an opportunity to grow with an expanding Payments company. You will have a passion for applying your compliance knowledge as a business enabler.
You will be comfortable reporting to a direct manager in the UK and matrix responsibilities to a local Director in Paris.
You will be a proven problem solver and be comfortable resolving CDD/KYC/EDD issues. Finally you will be highly competent at working with the regulatory authorities in France and in particular the ACPR.
What you will need to bring to Planet
Fluent in written and spoken French and English languages
Strong academic record or professional compliance qualifications
Appropriate level of knowledge and experience of best practice risk management and governance frameworks and methodologies
Experience of working in Payments, is a pre-requisite
Ability to act as a 'business partner' to the organisation and not purely fulfil a box ticking mandate; the ability to provide strategic, analytical and business support
Excellent communication skills with the credibility to gain respect internally and, to the extent appropriate to the role, externally with people at all level
3-5+ Years of previous experience as a Compliance Officer working with AML / CTF regulations
Demonstrable experience of implementing a financial crime framework / approach within a business
Up to date knowledge of AML legislation (including detailed knowledge of MLD4/5/6) and its implications in the EEA
Experience of providing financial crime training and education to colleagues
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
Experience of working with regulators, external auditors and inspectors
Experience of interpreting and applying legislation within a company context
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to make quick and effective decisions
Excellent planning and organisation skills
Self-motivated, ability to manage self and others tasks to meet the required deadlines
Experience of management reporting, investigation and / or auditing
Previous experience of managing a team is not necessary
