In this role, you will work to build our Digital Bank of the future, revolutionising the financial services industry by designing products that put our customers first.
Joining us a senior Java Engineer we need you to help design, develop and maintain cutting edge document management and correspondence platform capabilities that support our Digital Banking Platforms.
Your responsibilities will include designing, prototyping, developing, deploying and supporting our service capabilities (utilising common frameworks, Integration patterns, best practices and guidelines). You'll work with our chosen technologies stemming from Java such as FUSE, WebFlux, Solace, OpenShift and many others, and help evaluate emerging technologies.
You will help support and enhance our existing legacy applications, while working on our migration strategy to new cloud-based technologies. Production stability is critical for our applications; therefore, you will have a passion for reliability, scalability, supportability and pro-active monitoring.
As the successful candidate, you will bring to this role your tertiary qualification, proven support, development and integration experience, together with excellent attention to detail, strong communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a larger global team. In addition, you will have a track record of developing and maintaining services and integration solutions that are reliable, maintainable and secure.
In addition to the above, your technical proficiencies will include:
understanding of modern approach to integration (cloud, micro-services, APIs, reactive programming)
designing, developing and implementing secure REST and SOAP-based APIs
strong skill set in core & enterprise Java
cloud technologies - AWS & Google
open source integration frameworks (e.g. Apache Camel, WebFlux)
desirable skillsets: event and message-orientated platforms (e.g. Solace, Kafka, Active MQ)
basic skills in supporting Unix and Windows Server applications
understanding of monitoring and alerting applications (such as Splunk, Sumo and/or AppDynamics).
