About the Investment BankingSupport Group The Investment Banking Support Group (IBSG)sits within the Global Investment Bank.
We work closely with the firm's EMEA Investment Banking teams, preparingmaterials for use both in client marketing and project execution. Your work in IBSGwill encompass the full suite of investment banking products (mergers & acquisitions,equity capital raising and debt capital raising - both investment grade andhigh yield), sometimes in relation to the same situation.
The Investment BankingSupport Associate Role
The Investment Banking Support Associate's main responsibilities will include:
People management :Leadership, mentorship and supervision of many Analysts.
Research: Sourcing and interpretingcompany & industry sector information from a variety of data sources(company reports, online databases, J.P. Morgan proprietary content, internet)with the aim of forming sector and individual company views. Summarising andsynthesising news updates/research reports on priority clients and for weeklyindustry sector reports.
Financial analysis : Analysis andinterpretation of financial statements including company benchmarking, preparingtrading and transaction comparable analyses, modelling projected operating andfinancial performance for business valuations and pro forma businesscombination analysis.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
Previous team management experience for associate.
A well-rounded academic background from a top tier educational institution.
Highly numeric, able to work with data and numbers and recognise when numerical results don't appear correct.
Strong quantitative and business writing skills.
Ability to perform data research and produce presentations for key stakeholders.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior professionals and key stakeholders
Knowledge of analysing company financials and financial modelling in excel is an advantage (but will be taught through our comprehensive training programs).
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent time management skills and ability to deliver quality work under strict deadlines.
This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
