About the opportunity We are seeking an experienced and driven Analyst to join our Direct Asset Control team based in Sydney. This role will be required to work under the direction of the Manager, Direct Asset Control to support the operations and reporting aspects of the Direct Assets Team.
Key tasks and responsibilities As an Analyst, your primary responsibilities will include:
Ensuring in-house direct assets are administered in accordance with the trust deeds, regulatory and statutory requirements
Advising the relevant investments teams on all direct asset matters including structuring of special purpose vehicles, financial/accounting outcomes on financial instruments, unit pricing, stakeholder reporting and engagement with relevant stakeholders
Supporting change management and transformation initiatives that impact the investment control team
Supporting the delivery and relationships with third party providers of accounting data and ensuring all necessary reconciliations of financial data are current and accurate
Ensuring all call payments and instructions are processed on time and dividend/distribution payments are made in accordance with policy
Partnering with the Management team to develop the strategy for the team, ensuring that the strategy aligns with the Fund Services and organisational strategies
Developing and maintaining relevant Tax and Statutory Reporting processes, policies and procedures; and
Assisting with Strategic project work and accounting/tax implications of Fun initiatives and investments
About you To be successful in this role, you will be required to demonstrate recent experience in the following:
A relevant tertiary qualification
Strong technical accounting and tax skills with requisite professional body qualifications
Experience in preparing statutory accounts for trusts and private companies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Good understanding of direct investment, private equity, investment markets and securities and valuation methodologies (desirable)
