BlackRock's US/Canada Defined Contribution (USCA DC) business delivers the firm's products and solutions to clients with 401k, 403(b) and 457 retirement plans. With over $925b in assets under management, BlackRock is the largest DC investment-only manager in the US. Clients span from the largest institutional plans to smaller adviser sold plans. The USCA DC business has experienced strong growth over the last few years and has been identified as a priority business for the firm.
BlackRock is recruiting for a Vice President/Associate relationship manager for our Retirement National Accounts Team. The team is responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with platforms, including adding funds to select lists, serving as a thought leader on industry trends and being a consultative partner to clients.
Develop, forge and maintain successful relationships with key advisor aggregator relationships and broker dealer platform contacts
Actively implement distribution strategies to grow DC assets under management, with an emphasis on core active and passive investment options and target date strategies
Seek and find opportunities to partner with clients and prospect
Work with Senior Business leaders on executing our retail national account strategy with focus clients and support in focused areas
Field, respond to, and accommodate day-to-day client requests regarding support, marketing, and distribution strategies, leading to addition and retention of BlackRock DC assets
Track activities and maintain contact information in CRM
Coordinate and structure portfolio reviews and research presentation meeting material
Expand knowledge about products, and services and sales techniques to provide consistently improved assistance
Work on special projects as assigned
Liaison internally on detailed client contract work
Support the DC Retail Team's distribution efforts
Up to 50% client travel
Skills and Requirements
*The preferred location for this position is in NYC, but can be flexible to Boston, MA or Princeton, NJ
Bachelor's degree required (MBA, CIMA, CFP, CFA a plus)
Series 7 and 63/65 or 66 is required
5+ years of related experience
Strong defined contribution plan and market understanding
Knowledge of the equity and bond markets as well as asset allocation strategies
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated analytical ability, maturity and judgment
Thrives in a fast-paced environment with a proactive, "can do" attitude
Organized with strong attention to detail and time management skills
Effective team player; able to work with people of all levels
High level of self-motivation with strong integrity and ethics
Motivated by sales and revenue retention
