You will work alongside the investment teams to source, assess, execute, monitor and exit private equity transactions. Our client is looking for an individual with strong industry and consulting experience in the consumer and retail space, combined with a genuine interest in moving into the private equity.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Working with management and the investment teams to assess the operational maturity of existing and potential portfolio companies in order to identify possible improvement areas
Proactively source investment opportunities from our client's network as well as from your industry contacts for direct investments into companies as well as for investments into private equity funds
Developing and aligning operational value creation opportunities with management and initiating, plan and monitor their execution, if necessary you will actively assist on running value creation projects
Conduct various supporting tasks including fundraising efforts, and collaborate effectively with investment teams in other asset classes
Build the knowledge base of our client by structuring operational knowledge and best practices and training and coaching the investment teams in operational aspects

What our client expects
Top academ ic credentials, with emphasis on Business, Accounting, Finance and/or Engineering
Undergraduate degree plus 10 years of relevant work experience, or MBA degree plus 8 years of relevant work experience
A combination of consumer and retail industry experience and experience as a project leader for a leading strategy consultancy, including operations practice
Extensive experience in successfully implementing change management programs that significantly increased the operational maturity and delivered measurable financial impact
Excellent interpersonal and written communication, able to engage and motivate others across all levels of seniority, from business owners and CEOs to junior staff
A self-directed person, able to manage effectively and complete tasks in demanding timelines and with competing priorities
Well-balanced across strategic and operational domains; able to step back from the day-to-day to coach and advise, combined with an ability to dive deep into the detail as and when required
Willingness to travel, primarily in the Americas region
