The purpose of the role will be to provide primarily legal with some compliance support to the Edmond de Rothschild Group's business lines in the UK.
Based in offices in St James's, you will report to the UK Group General Counsel.
This is a broad commercial role, which will entail:
Working closely with and providing support to the UK Group General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer, as well as other senior individuals in the business.
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating documents such as non-disclosure agreements, reliance letters, commitment letters, fee letters and engagement letters.
Reviewing financial promotions and other marketing materials.
Dealing with service level and outsourcing agreements, including those with other Edmond de Rothschild Group companies.
Undertaking a variety of compliance work, including FCA reporting, FCA rules mapping, policy and procedure updates, implementation of the UK Group's compliance monitoring programme, personal account dealing monitoring, Bloomberg monitoring, portfolio performance reviews, preparation of management information for board meetings and acting as FATCA/CRS point of contact for Group Compliance.
Dealing with KYC analysis and queries.
Maintaining company books for the UK Group entities and making all Companies House filings (e.g. director appointments and terminations, annual confirmation statements and statutory accounts).
General legal research.
Providing day-to-day support to the private banking and asset management sides of the UK business.
Liaising with colleagues internationally, in particular in Luxembourg and Geneva.
Key Competencies and Characteristics
The successful candidate will be a UK qualified lawyer with a minimum of 2 years PQE. Candidates should come from a financial services background.
The candidate must have a willingness to take on a challenging and diverse workload, placing importance on long-term solutions and developing strong working relationships.
Key skills in this role will be teamwork, attention to detail, an ability to anticipate issues, and a willingness to get involved in a broad range of topics as these arise.
