The Liquidity Product Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining a set of on-balance sheet and/or off-balance sheet products designed to meet the full spectrum of SVB's clients' needs. The Liquidity Product Manager plays a critical role in developing and delivering strategy across the bank as well as leading ongoing tactical initiatives. The individual will need to focus on multiple priorities including balance growth, interest expense, development of new products, and general partner education regarding liquidity products and markets.
Understand how liquidity products support bank objectives
Communicate how a particular product fits within a liquidity framework
Identify any product gaps, prioritize and produce development roadmaps
Product design and implementation:
Research potential product viability with internal and external clients
Lead projects designed to update or enhance a product
Develop user stories, workflows and wireframes
Work closely with technology, product support and delivery teams
Product financial performance ownership
Review financial performance metrics and key indicators to determine product health and effectiveness of existing activities/tactics
Understand and be able to articulate financial, profitability and economic aspects of FTP as well as liquidity product relationship to bank funding requirements
Product Rate strategy and structure
Utilize internal and external resources to maintain current pricing information with respect to market trends, economic theory, and product positioning
Recommend changes to product standard rates
Be able to articulate rationale for rate strategy with Finance, Treasury and Sales partners
Develop relevant sales collateral, internal marketing materials and product materials
Responsible for managing and implementing product marketing activities/initiatives through research, strategic planning and implementation
Work with legal, compliance and risk teams to review product materials and components to identify any potential regulatory, operational or legal concerns
Product Operational Structure
Be fully conversant in the product's operational support structures, support system details, and general regulatory requirements
Partner with product support to ensure that all products are integrated in to appropriate training programs
Develop and consult on product specific policies, procedures, workflows and guidelines
Partnership and Collaborate
Build productive relationships with internal partners in Finance, Treasury, Marketing, Legal, Technology, Operations, Client Service, Implementation and Sales
Consult on projects managed outside of liquidity management across SVB
Works in conjunction with a senior product manager or head of liquidity products to determine strategic plans and tactical initiatives
enhancements to product line to stimulate sales and meet client objectives
product standard rate changes to respond to economic environment
product initiatives designed to drive balance growth or lower interest expense
Industry knowledge of Liquidity Product Management covering both On-balance sheet deposit options (MMA, CD, IBDDA, DDA, ECR, FCA/MCA/ICA, and Packages) and Off-balance sheet liquidity options (automated sweep to MMMF, Eurodollar, and Master Note).
Understands or has experience with short term money markets (Treasuries, Commercial Paper, MMMF, Fed Funds, etc...) and economics of yield curve.
Strong interpersonal and communications/presentation skills
Client focused including ability to think in terms of client experience/perspective
Ability to do what it takes to make your product and team successful
Familiarity with commercial banking
Familiarity with commercial banking
Prior experience in Commercial Banking, and/or Financial Performance and Analysis within financial industry
Experience in executing projects/strategies across multiple stakeholders
Familiarity with relevant regulatory materials, in particular with regard to liquidity and balance sheet management and current deposit and non-deposit investment product offerings
A firm grasp of specific trends impacting the banking industry with an overlay of knowledge of broader macro-economic trends (including rate specific trends)
Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) is a plus
Ability to translate market trends and accompanying client needs into commercially viable solutions. Effective and concise communicator at all levels, both verbal and written.
