Grade DU assistant manager role in Accounting Operations, Finance Business Services, Group Finance Support
Finance Business Services (FBS) is Lloyds Banking Group's key provider of financial services within Group Finance Support (GFS) for the rest of the Group and employs around 250 colleagues in two locations: Edinburgh and Bristol.
Based in Bristol, Accounting Operations is within FBS and amongst other services, posts journals, makes payments on the Group's behalf, operates the Bank's key general ledger systems and assists business units in their month end close processes.
This role in the Interface Operations team is a great opportunity to expand your knowledge of key core finance and reporting systems used across the Bank as well as enhancing networking and contact opportunities amongst stakeholders. The team provides a diverse range of services for the Group including:
running the Bank's foreign currency month end processes
operating the Group's platform for interfacing the core banking system in branches into the general ledger
Operating the Bank's statutory reporting system.
The maternity cover role will encompass a variety of different tasks which may be some or all of the following:
Operation of daily tasks for the Group's Finance platform "FDPP"
Monthly operation of FDPP to include reconciliations using source system data, submission for posting journals into SAP and month end work to support the business, operation of table change controls
Processing of the team's foreign currency interface, MABE4 (Management Accounts for Bank of England)
Month end work to interface the Bank's foreign trades through to the general ledger via source systems and journals, to include a Sarbanes Oxley (SOx) reconciliation control
Preparation of Bank of England forms
Assisting another team with monthly intercompany matching processes, to include liaising with internal customers to resolve and post differences, all to tight deadlines
Currently a new system is being developed so the successful candidate will need to support testing and parallel runs. Experience of testing will be greatly beneficial
Equally, new processes will be required so documenting and building a robust standardised process will form part of this role
In addition, there will be a variety of different projects to get involved with, which directly impact the team's systems. This will require liaising with stakeholders and being involved in solutions.
You will need excellent attention to detail and communication skills. You need an ability to think on your feet as the diverse range of activities can result in varied and sudden queries that demand urgent attention, especially where reporting is concerned.
Underpinning the team's work is Service Excellence, a model we have used with great success for the past six years. You will be expected to contribute towards this, seeking process improvements and simplification wherever needed and being an active team member in helping to cover capacity needs.
