Working with the Investment team you will research ideas across Latin America, EMEA, India and Frontier markets. The role will involve the following:
Monitoring daily news and results for existing holdings and notifying fund managers of any significant developments
Assisting fund teams with presentation materials for clients
Assisting fund teams on research projects focusing on particular industries - e.g. microfinance in South East Asia
Writing initiation notes on stocks based on calls and meetings with management according to the Company's template for stock research
Fact checking information provided by management in company meetings
Conducting research on macro and political risks in specific emerging and frontier markets
Ability to generate ideas within the specified regions
Qualifications and experience:
Candidates should have a degree from a first class university
Have a solid professional experience in banking, finance or related field
Comprehensive knowledge of Latin America, EMEA and Frontier markets
Demonstrable accounting and valuation skills to write full research reports on request
Verifiable history of working in team environments
Demonstrate experience working under pressure in a banking and financial services context, and an ability to learn quickly in a multi-disciplinary role to the end of building a career as a capable executive
Having lived and worked in one of the countries listed above would be desirable in bringing soft as well as hard knowledge to the role
