The initial plan was to sell the software but the founders had a change of heart and decided to take the company in a new direction, keen to make a social impact by providing affordably credit solutions in emerging markets where such facilities were sorely lacking. The business is currently focused on buying portfolios of loans from alternative lenders in sub Saharan Africa (from companies such as solar panel distributers that sell panels with credit agreements).
Reporting to the Global COO this Senior Fund Accounting position is a combination of business as usual and change management. This person will lead the implementation of a loan management system called eFRONT, similar to Black Mountain. The incumbent will also develop and run the procedures on the funds side of this business and will from day one manage one fund accountant, but the team will scale up. They have Cayman's funds and are launching a Luxemburg RAIF which together will underpin the investment operations side of the firm.
The role is suited to either a qualified accountant with experience of fund accounting and projects such as system implementation. The client would also be receptive to CV from implementations specialist with eFRONT or similar loan management suystyems, with a background in finance that would consider a hybrid role.

The Senior Fund Accountant will be a member of the Fund Accounting team and report directly to the COO, assisting in the reporting and operations related to investments made by the asset manager. The individual will be responsible for day-to-day Fund Accounting in the following areas:
Responsible for accurate and timely completion of all deliverables such as bank reconciliations, capital call notices, capital distributions notices, fund financial statements, investor capital account statements and various ad hoc reports
Compute/review management fee and carried interest calculations and P&L allocation
Calculate the NAV of the fund and reconcile to the fund administrator
Assist year-end audit process in collaboration with auditors
Improve processes to gain efficiencies and reduce risk
Responsible for liaison with Alternative lender on loans and generate customer focused materials; monthly invoices, loan statements, pay off statements.
Transact foreign exchange transactions and ensure FX hedging is accurate
Fund related regulatory reporting
In addition to being responsible for the above the individual will also need to be able to run with projects independently including launch of new products and implementation of new internal software tools.
