Reporting to the Head of Legal base in Singapore, you will provide sound legal advice and support to the Group and all its business functions in compliance with local regulatory laws and requirement.
Draft, review, and negotiate transactional documents, contracts, and other legally-binding material entered into by the Company in the regular conduct of business or as may be required by the business functions and Company;
Provide legal support and coordination of external advice on existing and ongoing projects and matters, including corporate structuring/restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate finance, debt and equity issuance, potential IPO and litigation (claims and non-claims);
Work closely with the Group's Compliance function to provide legal support and advice across different jurisdictions where the Group has a presence;
Manage legal documentation classification, filing and retention – original contract documents, NDAs, confidential and proprietary materials, etc;
Review and advise on existing contractual obligations and assist to ensure compliance;
Legal support to our business units in Underwriting and Claims include:
Reviewing of insurance/reinsurance policy wordings when requested by the Treaty and Facultative underwriting units, assisting the underwriters in inking such coverage, exclusions, and terms and conditions in a clear and concise manner;
Vetting of indemnity agreement, collateral agreement, non-disclosure agreement, assignment/cut-through agreements, sanction clauses, etc. when requested by the underwriters;
Assisting Claims Department in the interpretation of policy coverage, terms and conditions especially for complex cases involving potential litigation or arbitration;
Qualified lawyer with a good degree from a recognised law school;
Must have inhouse experience
Experience in managing legal and corporate secretariat work in the re/insurance industry or financial institution is a definite advantage;
Highly motivated and committed individual with the aptitude and ability to learn quickly;
Candidates not from re/insurance sector is welcome but have interest in this sector
1 year direct contract, renewable depends on performance & biz's requirements
$8k to $13k per month depending on experience
