Maldon Partners are recruiting a Compliance Associate role on a permanent basis for a rapidly growing financial services firm based in the City. The role has been created due to expansion and will report directly to the Chief Compliance Officer.
The firm has c1800 employees globally and offices in Europe, Asia and USA and provides its global client base with several services including advisory, trade execution, clearing and payments across several asset classes.
Due to its increased growth the firm is looking for an experienced Compliance Associate to join the wider compliance team. The successful candidate will have already had some exposure to the payments industry and should have strong knowledge of AML rules and regulations (not KYC Onboarding).
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Daily transaction monitoring of live payments against global sanctions and related watchlists using SWIFT sanctions screening software.
Review of Customer Due Diligence "CDD" on clients and counterparties, in line with the firm's compliance monitoring programme to comply with AML regulations.
Assist in the periodic transaction reviews of customers trading activity to ensure that the customer is trading in line with its profile.
Reporting suspicious activity to National Crime Agency
Deliver financial crime training to the business
To assist in reviewing and updating compliance policies and procedures
Managing the mailbox on a rotational basis
Responsible for the completion of routine AML & KYC questionnaires for Global Payments customers and counterparties.
Assist in the execution of ad hoc compliance projects as required.
In order to apply for the Compliance Associate role, you MUST have:
A minimum of 3years generalist AML compliance experience gained within a payments services firm
A strong understanding of The Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulation 2017; Payments Services Directive in addition to CDD, Sanctions and Global Watchlists
A bachelor's degree ideally in Law or another appropriate discipline
UK Compliance qualification is desired but not essential
Excellent knowledge of MS Office skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
The Compliance Associate role has a base salary of c£40,000 – £45,000 depending on experience and is based in the City of London.
