Fixed Income Capital Markets (FICM), Global Capital Markets (GCM)
Morgan Stanley's Global Capital Markets (GCM) serves as the nexus between Investment Banking and Sales & Trading. GCM comprises traditional market coverage and underwriting groups, as well as a number of product groups focused on providing customized capital structure solutions for our clients. You work with clients on complex, innovative financing and risk management solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Working with the Northern European FIG FICM coverage team your primary responsibility would be covering financial institutions in the UK and Northern Europe (ex France) for Debt Capital Markets products.
Working with the UK FIG FICM team your primary responsibility would be to work with and support the team covering UK FIG clients. The responsibilities of this role include:
Developing funding and capital solutions for our clients
Assisting in structuring and executing FICM transactions across funding and capital products
General knowledge of the debt capital markets - you will be responsible for producing regular market updates and understanding what is feasible under current market conditions
Analysis of regulatory, credit and other balance sheet drivers
Client coverage responsibilities at junior levels and increasing over time
Supporting strategic client dialogues with other parts of the firm, including investment banking and other areas of GCM
This role is based in London
Previous full-time employment in a top tier investment bank ideally in Debt Capital Markets or otherwise corporate finance/ M&A or on the public debt sales, trading or research side, with direct experience of financial institutions a benefit
Top class undergraduate degree or equivalent from a leading university
A positive, highly motivated individual who exhibits strong leadership and management qualities
Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential; additional languages preferred
Exceptional work ethic and excellent attention to detail
Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
Strong team player able to work effectively in a team environment
