This role is required as a transversal EMEA regional governance & oversight role of key strategic data initiatives impacting the EMEA region. This role is required to produce an EMEA transversal FLOD oversight report of key risks, issues, challenges and proposed mitigations across all Business Units present in EMEA. This oversight role requires attendance at EMEA-wide control, data privacy and data governance/management forums. The incumbent will also be required to provide Subject Matter Expertise input into the creation of new strategic data-related policies or any amendments/updates to our existing policies.
Drive oversight of EMEA compliance with the global Data Governance Policy; global Data Incident Policy; global Record Retention and Destruction policy and the Global Privacy & Personal Data Protection Standard.
Provide Subject Matter Expertise, where needed, regarding an optimal EMEA operating model. Design and implement EMEA regional operating models if needed.
Provide EMEA regional oversight and EMEA Data & Resiliency oversight on the EMEA Regional Privacy Oversight Committee forum
Provide support for Regulatory exams in EMEA/Globally as requested
Contribute to new data-related policies or updates to existing data-related policies as needed
Understand and articulate the risks and priorities for EMEA regionally to your reporting governance structure
Continue to maintain and update the EMEA Data Governance Collaborate site, ensuring all links and material are fit-for-purpose for the EMEA audience
Continue to issue out a monthly EMEA Data Newsletter with links to deliveries due, new/amended policies, industry updates, hot topics etc from the previous month, if this is agreed as required
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key FLOD (First Line of Defence) stakeholders across EMEA and Globally
Ability to challenge, negotiate and drive implementation for Data-related initiatives
5+ years of financial services experience including experience in executing Regulatory requirements across multiple areas
Good knowledge of European marketplace and regulatory environment
Data Governance, Data Management and/or Data Privacy experience and certifications are beneficial
Experience in Business Controls, Risk or Compliance related activities beneficial
A strong appreciation of the breadth of data topics; data management, data quality, data dictionaries, data lineage, data architecture, data privacy, data reporting etc, is preferable
Ability to interact comfortably with all levels of the organization
Ability to collaborate and influence colleagues
Ability to develop stakeholder relationships and to establish credibility quickly
Proven ability to successfully negotiate and influence to achieve desired outcomes
Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, meet deadlines and execute in a fast-paced environment
