Credit Risk Analyst - Hedge Fund Risk - Risks Hong Kong

HF Credit assessment - Performing or reviewing hedge fund due diligences on a portfolio of funds, including the review of relevant documentation, analysing investment and operational risks, performing background checks, arranging and attending on-site due diligence meetings and drafting well-written, cogent, due diligence documents. Assist in opining on transactions and associated risks.
Clearing Houses assessment - Performing or reviewing clearing houses due diligences on a portfolio of Asian clearing houses, including both Credit Risk and Market Risk management and methodologies.
Approval - approving specific credit files and limits within the incumbent's own delegation and the associated credit ratings. Approving specific one-off transactions as required in the course of everyday business. Facilitating the approval of files that are to be escalated further.
Mitigation - Enforcing procedures designed to mitigate against losses in the event that a hedge fund defaults, including assisting in negotiating credit terms of legal documents (e.g. ISDA ATEs), negotiating and opining on Independent Amounts.
Monitoring - Maintaining up to date risk information and the ongoing monitoring of hedge fund performance and credit worthiness. Managing credit exposures in accordance with defined risk appetite. Following up on credit limit and policy breaches on hedge funds as well as clearing houses.
Agency/Client clearing expert
Conduct the analysis for Market Risk department regarding the assessment of the risks taken by SG through its prime brokerage activity (agency/client clearing)
Defines, implement and maintains the specific counterparty risk framework required for the agency business
Follows the evolution of methodological (margination) and system aspects
Participates to the various validation meeting that involve client clearing
Participates to the study of atypical client onboardings within the agency space
Global coordinator within RISQ/RMA for PRM business
Be the central point of contact of MARK/PRM management regarding market risk topics; follow business developments, and participate to the NPCs that are related to PRM;
Coordinating the work of the various RISQ/RMA's Trading Desk Risk Officers (within RISQ/RMA/BMC and RISQ/RMA/HPC teams) covering MARK/PRM desks, ensuring that the risk framework (methodologies and limits) is overall consistent;
Contribute to the various focus (CoRisq, MRC, weekly markets, specific external requests, one off analysis conducted by RISQ/RMA) when PRM is involved;
CCPs risk assessment regarding clearing risk
Assess the first level analysis produced by MARK/TRD regarding the risks related to individual CCPs
When needed, conduct further analysis through CCP rule books, specific due diligence and risk metrics analysis;
Potential participation to CCPs consultations, working groups and risk committees;
Deal flow: assess the risk related to bilateral transactions with CCPs and FMIs, liaising with Front Office and relevant departments when needed
Participate to the overall governance and projects around CCPs risk management (risk monitoring projects, definition and maintenance of rating models, set up of dedicated stress tests, ...)
Participate to the analysis conducted through New Product Committees on activities that involve relations with CCPs (either clearing or bilateral);
Participate to the strategic surveillance of the market and regulatory context of CCPs, in order to propose relevant adaptations of the risk framework;

Preferably experience in hedge fund credit or investment risk
Experience reading and understanding detailed covenants and clauses in legal documentation such as ISDAs, GMRAs, GTBs, term sheets, prospectuses etc.
Good knowledge of hedge fund industry in Asia.
Good knowledge of CCP industry in Asia.
Knowledge of OTC derivative products and drivers of associated risks.
Knowledge of listed derivative products and drivers of associated risks.
Good analytical/statistics skills; the person should understand means, standard deviations, correlation, normal distributions, sampling error, and basic performance statistics for the fund industry.
Intermediate to advance Excel, Database and Python skills is highly desirable.
Self-starter able to meet deadlines and work independently as well as contribute to team goals when required.
Good communication skills
Articulate orally and in written form.
Be comfortable meeting with very experienced hedge fund managers in person, be presentable and respectful
Required education and experience
Undergraduate degree from good university in finance, economics, mathematics, business, or any technical field. Post Graduate degree helpful, but not necessary.
At least 5-7 years' experience in financial markets, in a Front Office or Risk position
