Job Description As a Ratings Desk Associate on the Bank Loan Team you will be responsible for monitoring of syndicated loan and high yield bond market activity, monitor various databases to flag subsequent changes, conduct in-depth review of issuance, organization, documentation and determine appropriate terms.
Support new deal set-up, ensure data accuracy, track changes, support rating analysts within the designated Line of Business (LOB)
Monitor designated mailboxes to ensure timely and effective handling of internal and external client requests. Organize work to meet deadlines and time sensitive requests/projects.
Proactively work to ensure completeness of databases
Build positive relationships with clients to ensure best-in-class customer service. Promptly resolve client inquiries (both internal and external clients)
Promptly and efficiently escalates conflicts/problems/database/data inconsistency
Able to identify and research issues and/or discrepancies with data and/or requests for follow up with the analyst, arranging bank, issuer etc.
Demonstrate increasing awareness of procedures, guidelines and regulatory requirements as it pertains to their job function
Liaison with Rating Teams and other Moody's departments (Commercial, Information Technology, etc.) as required
Demonstrate flexibility with last minute changes in commitments and deadlines
Contribute positively to the team even under pressure or when performing routine and/or administrative tasks
Continue to develop broad based knowledge of financial instruments, terminology, and related business practices
Excellent attention to details and ability to complete repetitive process with no errors
Clear written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate complex business concepts to a senior audience
Highly organized and efficient
Competency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.)
Strong focus and enthusiasm required to achieve best results
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
Independent and willing to go above and beyond to achieve best results
Entry level position, some relevant work experience and/or relevant internship experience preferred. Previous financial data or leveraged loans experience would be advantageous.
Undergraduate/first-level degree (E.g. Bachelor's degree) required ideally within a Financial or Legal discipline
