The Model Development team within Risk Management is responsible for developing and maintaining models that are used in a wide variety of applications. The Canadian Retail Model Development team is responsible for the development of expected loss models that are used in the calculation of risk weighted assets (RWA) for retail credit exposures under the Basel II AIRB approach and the calculation of allowance (IFRS9), as well as serve in the Bank's internal and regulatory stress tests. The Model Development team also develops scorecard models that predict risk for product adjudication, account management, collection strategies for the Canadian Retail and SBB lending portfolios.
Work with a group of skilled professionals to support the development, validation and implementation process of the risk models including capital models (PD, EAD, LGD), adjudication/account management models and scorecards for TD's Canadian Retail Personal and SBB lending portfolios.
Work in a highly interactive, team-oriented environment with model developers and data scientists to develop innovative solutions for the ongoing enhancement of model development process and model data process.
Develop and improve common tools for data quality check, data centralization/standardization, visualization for analytics, automated documentation, automated model building.
Provide ongoing support to MD's model data and development platform upgrade and migration.
A successful candidate is expected to have:
A university degree in a quantitative discipline: Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Econometrics, Operations Research, etc.
Strong working knowledge and hands-on experience using SAS and SQL in the context of data manipulation, data mining, statistical analysis, and predictive modelling.
Working knowledge of Python, R, Spark, Scala, Tableau with good understanding of concept of Hadoop/Big data and Machine learning.
Excellent multi-tasking skills to prioritize and manage workload to deliver quality results and meet assigned timelines.
Self-starter with an ability to seek out challengers/opportunities and provide innovative solutions to support stakeholders and add value.
Strong problem-solving skills, ability to independently identify and solve problems in an effective and timely manner.
Strong communication skills to effectively explain model and analytics results to audience from different background.
