The incumbent is responsible for managing the underwriting and collateral review functions within the Structured Lending/Underwriting department. Responsibilities include: ensuring that loans are underwritten and collateral is reviewed in accordance with Credit Policy, maintaining service standards; and continuously improving productivity and credit approval turnaround times. Manage a staff of credit/lending professionals who are responsible for maintaining the existing Structured Loan portfolio, as well as structuring and underwriting new structured loan requests. This managerial position requires interaction with senior sales and senior credit risk management, providing advice and recommendations pertaining to loan structuring and credit approval of structured borrowing credit facilities. Responsible for regular preparation and presentation of management-level reports to senior business unit management as well as responding to all ad hoc requests. Responsible for editing and approving all credit memos prepared by the staff prior to obtaining final Credit approvals. Exercise delegated credit approval authority while maintaining consideration for new business development as well as protecting the quality of the Bank balance sheet. Responsible for all audit and regulatory exam results, regulatory filings and attestations, and coordinating efforts between auditors/examiners and underwriting staff.
Qualifications The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience. S/He should have extensive formal credit training. An MBA is preferred.
