Fitch Solutions, a leading provider of macroeconomic and credit risk intelligence, is recruiting for a Europe Team Lead, based in London, for its Country and Sector Intelligence team.
You will be responsible for country risk research output and have oversight of the views of the London-based Europe Country Risk research team, as well as working alongside our sales team to lend commercial support.
Responsibilities include :
Manage a team of 4-5 full time analysts covering the Europe region
Edit copy, assist with article structure and provide guidance/challenge views and forecasts where necessary
Hire and train analysts where necessary for open roles
Inspire and encourage members of the team to perform at high levels of excellence via your example and mentorship
Spearhead research and analysis for the wider region focussing on a mix between macroeconomics, political risk and financial markets analysis
Be the lead analyst for 1-2 major European economies
Oversee the quality and timely publication of Europe research (this includes daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly content)
Work closely with the global research team (across Singapore, London and New York) to formulate views
Contributing to broader research team-wide projects and initiatives (including, but not limited to, product development and the production of thematic research)
You will be client facing, with the ability to represent the team and deliver views and forecasts in a concise and articulate manner during client engagements as well as at events. Be a brand ambassador for our research and company
Being commercially minded and understanding how research and data is used by our clients and forward-thinking in coming up with new ideas of how we could commercialise our content
Engage in face to face meetings, client calls, webinars and presentations
Qualifications and experience:
Key skills and experience requirements include:
Experience working as Head of a Europe research team, looking at macroeconomic or sovereign risk, including experience writing forward-looking, opinion-driven research on GDP, fiscal and monetary policy, foreign exchange etc
Or, experience working in a senior Europe Country Risk role, where responsibilities included the mentoring and oversight of junior team members, and with a desire to take the next step in your career
Ability to work with and analyse large data sets
Familiarity analysing connections between political and macroeconomic risk
Ability to cope with time pressure and deadlines
Fluent spoken and written English
Strong public speaker
Excellent and proactive communicator
Track record in hiring, training and managing/mentoring a small team
