Responsible for working across functions, countries and branches to support the Global Financial Crimes program and oversee all financial crimes risk assessment activities within the Region. Responsibilities include advising on and supporting the design of the regional components of the risk assessment process, supporting execution of the annual Global Financial Crimes. Anti-Money Laundering Risk Assessments, raising management awareness of issues identified during execution of the Risk Assessments, driving remediation activities, meeting regulatory obligations, and managing financial crimes risk within the region.
Responsible for leading Exam and Audit management initiatives across functions to support the Global Financial Crimes program to provide timely reporting and high-quality exam support necessary to report financial crime risk across products, services and geographies to raise management awareness, drive remediation activities, meet regulatory obligations, and manage risk.
Provide information necessary for effective management and coordination of the various bank examinations.
Advise executive and line management on emerging compliance issues, and assist line unit compliance officers in establishing policies, procedures and controls
Collaborate with regional branches to conduct assessment, implementation and/or potential remediation related to newly implemented Financial Crimes global standards
Support the design, implementation and execution of a global, enterprise-wide AML, ABC, and Sanctions risk assessment.
Bachelor's degree required. An MBA or Master's degree in analytics, business, accounting, legal or related fields is preferred.
5 plus years of internal or industry experience in financial crimes, compliance, risk assessment, reporting, or data governance.
7+ years of related experience, ideally within Financial Crimes (Sanctions Screening/KYC/AML/Transaction Monitoring)
General knowledge of regulatory mentorship and practices in the AML, ABC and sanctions space.
Strong organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively (both written and oral) at all staff levels
Excellent interpersonal and project management skills, and the ability to execute on multiple projects.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint (Access and other database or reporting tools are a plus).
ACAMS, ISCO or other financial crimes-related certification preferred.
Strong ability to develop appropriate program improving strategies.
Experience collaborating with banking regulators and enforcement staff.
Understanding of an effective financial crimes risk management framework.
Ability to work autonomously and initiate and prioritize own work,
Ability to work with teams of project managers.
Excellent judgment and a practical approach to implementation - including knowledge of Bank systems
