Our division prevents, detects and mitigates compliance, regulatory and reputational risk across the firm and helps to strengthen the firm's culture of compliance. Compliance accomplishes these through the firm's enterprise-wide compliance risk management program. As an independent control function and part of the firm's second line of defense, Compliance assesses the firm's compliance, regulatory and reputational risk; monitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulations; designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training; conducts independent testing; investigates, surveils and monitors for compliance risks and breaches; and leads the firm's responses to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries. You'll be part of a team with members from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, such as law, accounting, sales, and trading. We look for those who possess sound judgment, curiosity, and are able to adapt to a changing regulatory landscape.
IBD Compliance supports the Investment Banking Division, which provides capital markets and financial advisory services, including providing solutions for clients with respect to mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt capital markets, structured finance, credit finance, emerging markets financing and corporate derivatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES The successful individual will be involved in a wide range of activities, which might include:
Real time response to ad hoc inquiries from the business regarding regulations and firm policies and procedures;
Assisting with the due diligence of individual transactions, new products and business initiatives;
Forensic reviews of IBD businesses and transactions;
Surveilling, testing and monitoring banker activity to ensure compliance with appropriate rules, regulations & firm policies;
Review of marketing materials & termsheets;
Developing policies, procedures and best practices;
Creating and implementing compliance training programs;
Responding to regulatory inquiries and internal audits.
The role includes substantial day-to-day contact with bankers, IBD business unit managers, the firm's technologists, the Control Room, the Conflicts Resolution Group, the Legal department and other control-side functions.
