General Requirements: Our newExecutive Manager, Line of Business Risk, will help to map our future as weinvest in new capabilities to drive significant improvements in businessperformance and the client experience. The Executive Manager will lead a globalmanagement team responsible for the ongoing independent oversight and challengeof day-to-day risk management activities, client, product and process changerisk assessments and risk reporting for assigned business line(s)/entityrisk(s) or legal entity facing a high level of risk. TheExecutive Manager will lead the assessment, monitoring and reporting on risksinherent to business activities, including fiduciary, reputational, businessand strategic risks; advise on effective risk mitigation strategies and ensuresimplementation; and be accountable for the integrity of the businessline(s)/entity risk(s) or legal entity's adherence to the Operational RiskManagement Framework. This position also includes responsibility for the BrokerDealer Compliance and the business line's Global Chief Compliance Officermatrix reports into this position. The Executive Manager serves on RiskManagement Committees and may advise or serve as Chair for other committees toensure their effectiveness; facilitates and encourages informed andconstructive debate on key issues; and may also lead enterprise wide riskgovernance projects. Primary Responsibilities: Consults on theestablishment of the enterprise-wide Operational Risk Management framework, theCompany Risk Appetite Statement and the Corporate Operational Risk Management(CORM) policies and procedures. Oversees the establishment of the assignedbusiness line or legal entity's risk appetite statements, in alignment with theCompany Risk Appetite Statement, and application of and adherence to the riskframework policies, processes, measures and limits. Establishes protocols forenforcing and monitoring compliance and assigns routine monitoringresponsibilities through less experienced managers. Leads the development ofreports and status updates and delivers these as well as improvementrecommendations to senior management and the CORM function.
Serves as the approval point forprocesses implemented by the assigned business line or legal entity regardingaccepting new business, preparing and maintaining standard documents and RFPdatabases and monitoring adherence to policies and procedures. Establishes thechain of approval based on best practices and extensive industry experience.Advises on effective risk mitigation strategies and ensures implementation.
Leads efforts to develop a strongorganizational risk culture, further develop the function's effectiveness as asecond line of defense for the business or legal entity and to influence andensure business adherence with the Operational Risk Management Framework.
Coordinates with the globalcompliance officer ensuring regulatory compliance and supervision in alljurisdictions for the line of business. Proper establishment and periodicreview of the supervisory system of the business line broker dealer. Ensuresadequate compliance change management including an effective process to amendpolicies and procedures to account for new regulations.
Uses longstanding, strongrelationships with senior roles in Risk Management, Compliance and Audit aswell as senior roles in the assigned business line or legal entity to drive thetimely completion of risk related deliverables and issue resolution. Producesaccurate and effective solutions and appropriately escalates issues to theRisk, Compliance and business line or legal entity management teams, as needed.
Recruits, directs, motivates anddevelops the management team, maximizing their individual contribution, theirprofessional growth and their ability to function effectively with theircolleagues as a team and/or lead. Provides feedback at the most critical times. Leadership: Leads aglobal management team Job scope: Responsible for the achievementof functional goals and objectives. Ensures teams are equipped tooperationalize and attain global objectives. Ensures appropriate financial andhuman resource allocation.
Bachelor's degree or the equivalentcombination of education and experience is required. FINRA Series 7 and 24required.
15+ years of total work experience with 5-7years of risk management or compliance experience preferred.
