GIC's Economics & Investment Strategy department (EIS) is a team of professionals who work closely with Investment Committees to set the Total Portfolio's strategic outlook and asset allocation over long- and medium- term horizons; and to identify, research, recommend and initiate appropriate responses on major structural trends that could significantly affect the risk-return profile of the Total Portfolio.
The Futures Unit in EIS is responsible for undertaking research into long-term trends that have significant implications on the total GIC portfolio. The research is used to inform policy portfolio, factor and asset class exposures, active strategy capital allocation and methodology, GIC's organizational capability building and sustainability policy. Amongst the themes that we are working on now are climate change and inequality.
The Futures Unit is now looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual who is interested in long-term futures research and investment integration to join as a Research Analyst.
Synthesize long-term trends that could be multi-disciplinary in nature, and connect the dots back to the impact on the GIC portfolio and investment strategies.
Conceptualize and direct creation of dashboards, and produce visualizations to monitor trends, scenarios and signposts.
Work with investment teams to convince them of impact on their portfolio, and facilitate integration of important long-term themes into the investment processes within GIC.
A good degree preferably Masters in Economics, Finance, or related fields of study.
At least 8 years of experience in related fields.
Well versed and interest in investment analysis such as bottom-up company's cash flow analysis and valuations and top-down portfolio construction methods.
Proactive in reaching out to stakeholders and portfolio managers. Ability to lead and drive discussion
Strong presentation, writing and communication skills.
A team player with maturity, ability and enthusiasm to work in a global and multicultural environment.
