Provide accurate, timely and business focused advice to the business on a wide range of legal topics
Responsibility for management of legal issues across our payment and escrow business including any innovation strategies
Focus on reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of contracts in connection with commercial partnerships, corporate, investment, financial services and other ancillary business agreements
Be a key collaborator and engage in projects and be a key person for compliance on all legal issues and risks with direct engagement with the Product, Tech, Operations and Commercial teams
Horizon scanning to bring effective solutions to protect the business from future risks and volatilities
Collaborate with management to devise efficient defence strategies
Maintain and assist in maintaining sound governance practices and monitoring the effectiveness of controls
Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues
Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.), creating relations of trust
Deliver engaging training programmes or focused session groups involving legal and industry specific risks
You'll be key to support the Group Chief Legal and Compliance Officer in maintaining relationships with the regulators and other institutions to maintain regulatory reporting, working with the firm's approved persons and keeping up with regulatory updates.

Knowledge and understanding of payments regulations, consumer credit compliance, FCA requirements and experience of working in a fast-paced professional environment and strong ability to perform horizon scanning to proactively influence and shape the business processes.
Someone with genuine belief of our vision, interest in the industry and an enthusiasm for the changing landscape of payments and how that is regulated with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels and appropriate manage expectations.
Experience of and ability to work in a fast-paced professional environment
Experience as a legal counsel in an in-house, fintech business environment preferred
Outstanding communication skills
LLB degree in Law or equivalent
