The APAC Markets & Regulatory Legal team is seeking a lawyer to supportthe APAC Markets business, with a primary focus on structured financialproducts in the form of notes, warrants and certificates linked to multipleasset classes (for example, shares, equity indices, ETFs, mutual funds, localcurrency bonds, consumer price or other inflation indices, interest rates orconstant maturity swap rates or any other rates including any combinationthereof). The role requires the lawyer to work in a dynamic team environment toprimarily provide day-to-day transactional support for the issuance of listedand unlisted structured products under the various global and APAC structurednote, listed warrants and repackaging programmes, including drafting andnegotiating term sheets, pricing supplements and programme level documentation.The successful candidate will also be required to work on new businessinitiatives (including development of new programmes) and advise on regulatoryissues and developments impacting the third party distribution business acrossAPAC. This role also requires the lawyer to be able to proactively spot issuesrelated to the business and particular transactions, provide commerciallypragmatic advice to the business and work well both within the Markets &Regulatory Legal team and with other functions such as Compliance, Operations,Risk and Tax.
A qualified solicitorfrom a common law jurisdiction with approximately 1 - 4 years PQE and relevantexperience in supporting derivatives businesses
Excellent written andspoken Chinese language skills preferred
Strong drafting,negotiation and legal analytical skills with strong attention to detail
Strong commercialfocus with a solution-driven approach, and the ability to apply and analyse theimplications of regulatory changes to a business environment
Outstanding technicallegal and communication skills, including the ability to present clear andconcise legal advice to the highest standard, and conduct trainings/workshops
Ability to managecompeting priorities, project-manage and co-ordinate large projects, in adynamic global environment
Ability to applytechnical product knowledge and experience to complex and innovativetransactions and products
Team player,confident and proactive with strong interpersonal skills
Attorneys must be licensed to practice law and a memberin good standing or otherwise eligible to practice law in the jurisdiction inwhich the position is based.
