Researchers have opportunities to contribute in a variety of areas, such as analysis and modeling of commodity markets, economic analysis, trading and investment strategy development, statistical arbitrage, term structure modeling, derivatives pricing, management of extreme event risk, next generation portfolio construction, market microstructure and algorithmic and high frequency trading.
The successful candidate will have:
a Ph.D. in computer science, statistics, engineering, physics, econometrics or a quantitative science
demonstrated expertise in machine learning, data mining, nonparametric statistics
a keen interest in finance
strong programming skills and extensive experience in building models and analyzing data using packages such as C++, Java, Python, Matlab, R or Mathematica
extensive experience in analyzing large scale data sets of any type
knowledge of time series, signal processing and/or quantitative finance are highly desirable
knowledge of commodity or futures markets is a plus
a desire to relocate to Portland, Oregon
