JobDescription : Job Description The Role: Rating Analyst - Structured Finance Modeling and Analytics The Location: Centennial, CO The Team: S&P Global Ratings is seeking a Rating Analyst to join its Structured Finance practice in a modeling capacity as part of our Asset Backed Securities team. The practice provides credit ratings of structured products that are backed by pools of consumer and commercial assets, including auto loans and leases, equipment leases, credit card receivables, student loans and personal loans.
The Impact: The Rating Analyst will support senior analysts by building and maintaining financial models and conducting cash flow analyses to stress test the structures and enhancement levels under various economic scenarios. The Rating Analyst's primary focus will be on North America. Responsibilities:
Create cash flow models for various asset classes across North America.
Perform cash flow analysis and synthesize results in a timely manner for new issue ratings and surveillance committees.
Read legal & operating documents and extract relevant information for cash flow and structure analysis.
Prepare presentation materials for ratings committees.
Respond to questions from internal parties on analytical assignments and may participate in calls with external parties.
Maintain model libraries and databases for ratings surveillance.
What we're Looking For: Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a quantitative discipline (3.3 GPA or higher) such as finance, computer science, economics or engineering. Master's degree is a plus.
2-3 years of full-time work experience in financial analysis, credit analysis, or capital markets.
High level of proficiency in Excel & VBA and financial data.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills are required.
Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines under time pressure.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a collaborative team.
Diligent and intellectually curious self-starter with a strong work ethic and a drive to succeed.
Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. C++, Python, R or Java) is preferred.
