TheInvestment Trust business is a market leading business managing the affairs of22 London Stock Exchange listed investment trust companies and 1 New York StockExchange listed closed end fund. JPMAM has been at the forefront of efforts tobroaden shareholder ownership of investment trusts, particularly in the wealthmanager and direct channels. The Investment Trust Investor Relation Specialisthas responsibility for deepening the relationships and ownership of ourinvestment trust range within the wealth management groups that are alreadyshareholders as well as seeking and introducing new groups / buyers to therange. The role will have a geographic focus on London and the regional clientsacross the UK.
Key Requirements & Duties
Develop strong relationships with existing holders ofour investment companies and ensure activity is co-ordinated and communicatedwith colleagues in the broader UK Funds sales team that are also involved inservicing those clients.
Identify prospective investors at all wealthmanagement firms in the UK and convert these into buyers in coordination withthe Investment Trust Sales team.
Keep shareholders informed and up-to-date with theirinvestments as well as cross-sell other investment companies they do notcurrently own
Work closely with the investment trust ClientDirectors to keep informed of trust developments, assist with registermanagement, discount management and identify growth opportunities
Record all activity and follow-up actions on SalesForce(Customer Relationship Management tool)
Provide written feedback on an agreed selection ofInvestment Companies for inclusion in the respective Company's quarterly boardmeeting. The report to include; movement/changes on the Company's shareregister, reporting on undertaken and planned activity as well as feedback fromexisting or prospective investors. At the discretion of the Client Director,present to the various Boards of Directors on an annual or more frequent basis
Provide sales support across the JPMorgan range ofinvestment companies by sharing the role of 'product champion'
Experience in investment fund/investment company sales and have a clear understanding of the developing distribution landscape in the UK
As a minimum, hold a professional qualification, such as the IMC
Experience of forging strong and successful client relationships and superior activity planning skills
An interest and knowledge of global economies, their stockmarkets and investing
Investment trust sector knowledge would be advantageous but not a prerequisite
Existing relationships with key investment trust buyer contacts in the UK market would be advantageous.
Strong demonstrable client skills, including excellent presentation skills and be comfortable working at all levels of seniority, both internally and externally
An organised self-starter who has the ability to work on their own and plan their time
A conscientious team player
A willingness to travel / preparedness to spend significant time away from the office during the working week
This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
