An excellent opportunity for a highly-experienced Financial Crime professional to join as a valued member of our Financial Crime Compliance team and lead a team of professionals focused on the institutional businesses within the Macquarie Group across Australia and New Zealand.
In this role you will support the day to day activities of the business, driving a high and consistent level of compliance and helping to advance Macquarie's broader financial crime risk management frameworks in the region. The Financial Crime Compliance team is responsible for anti-money laundering, counter terrorist financing, anti-bribery & corruption and sanctions risk management for bank and non-bank activities.
You will provide leadership and direction to the institutional Financial Crime Compliance team, supporting their development and overseeing all output, fostering an outcomes-focused, customer responsive and risk aware compliance culture. You'll work to increase the visibility of Money Laundering / Terrorist Financing, Bribery & Corruption and Sanctions risks within the institutional businesses, driving solutions to better understand and address exposures. In addition to this you will advise the institutional businesses on financial crime risks, including areas of capital markets, asset management and asset finance.
Further to the above you will oversee and conduct enhanced due diligence on counterparties, transactions and prospects to ensure financial crime risks are identified and managed appropriately; whilst working with Macquarie's compliance, operations and business teams to streamline and consolidate Anti-Money Laundering / Counter Terrorist Financing, Anti-Bribery & Corruption and sanctions operations, including policy and guidance review and management.
You'll bring with you substantial AML/CTF, AB&C and/or sanctions control experience from within a large banking organisation with exposure across multiple products. You will be able to display a strong understanding of AML/CTF and Sanctions compliance obligations as well as a thorough knowledge of institutional banking products and services.
The role will require exceptional stakeholder management capabilities with demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders including the board through effective communication and persuasive presentations. As a team lead you will have outstanding leadership skills that you will use to drive team outcomes and maintain high employee morale.
