We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Director Regulatory Compliance Global Private Banking Hong Kong.
To discharge the accountabilities set out in the Compliance Officer Handbook by proactively assisting management in identifying and containing compliance risk such as monitoring, reporting and certification, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.
To assist and support the Head of Regulatory Compliance Private Banking Asia Pacific in advising and supporting management in the overseeing of activities to ensure compliance with all relevant external regulatory requirements and internal codes and policies and implementation of initiatives which fall under the umbrella of Regulatory Compliance Risk and Global Standards.
The responsibility of the job holder is also perform an advisory role to the relevant businesses, formulating policies and standards to cover compliance issues and to support line management in managing and containing compliance risks by identifying and assessing the risks.
The job holder will also continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
To assist in the establishment and implementation of compliance procedures in accordance with the group policy, covering any new, change of laws and regulations affecting the business.
Liaise with relevant stakeholders within GPB in Hong Kong, Regional GPB and other functional partners to provide expertise on all transaction monitoring matters
To liaise with business and participate in new service or initiative projects to ensure the relevant compliance requirements are properly followed.
Maintain awareness of operational risk within assigned portfolio and minimise the likelihood of it occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting
Tertiary education preferable in Law or Business
Sound knowledge and experience in a retail banking, private banking environment, regulatory bodies having direct involvement in control aspects of regulatory and product development.
Familiarity with Hong Kong Monetary Authority regulations required.
Demonstrates a mature and confident approach with good communication skills and attention to detail.
The role will require a decisive approach, with good information gathering skills and an ability to work on own initiative.
Strong communications, analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Broad scope of knowledge of the business, including products, operations, systems and organization.
Detail-oriented and highly motivated.
