We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Manager, Risk Framework, Governance and Reporting, Asia Pacific .
Oversee the effective monitoring of and execute key activities within the risk and control framework in HSBC Securities Services in a commercially sensitive and practical manner, provide coordination, advice, independent challenge and assessment in relation to all risk governance, reporting and data quality activities undertaken by the business or the risk owners in line with operational risk framework management
Ensure risk governance framework is clear, fit for purpose and executed as defined, and that escalation paths are adequate and effective
Provide consistent internal and external benchmarking, where appropriate, regularly review the business risk management policies and operating processes and activities, taking into account local laws and regulatory requirements as appropriate
Support CCO leadership team, HSS Senior management and line management in driving the risk agenda across HSS, ensuring maximum awareness, management of issues and overall compliance with framework requirements
Play a key role in communication across HSS, GBM, the Global Functions, especially Group Risk, and HOST regarding the Risk and Control Agenda
Provide advisory and support to local team on risk and control related issues
Attend as required Risk and Control related committees and forums and ensure that the agenda effectively covers critical HSS risks and issues
Assist the function to ensure HSS Risk and Control Assessment is dynamically maintained, based on all relevant risk triggers
Support any related risk and control related activities including, but not restricted to, liaison with Internal and External Audit and Regulatory Authorities as well as key internal stakeholders
Ensure detailed understanding, communication and execution of a robust HSS risk management framework, manage and oversee the cascade and adoption of any changes thereto
Maintain relationships with second and third line of defense risk function, support line management as a key point of contact for HSS risk and control framework, policies, governance and reporting arrangements
Educated to undergraduate or post-graduate degree level in Accountancy, Finance or related field
Extensive experience in assurance, risk and control field of the financial industry or with accounting firms
Strong leadership and management ability, including motivating employees in the wider organisation
Deep understanding of HSBC structures, processes and objectives, especially in the risk environment
Broad knowledge of the external environment such as regulatory, political and competitors
Deep knowledge of HSBC and GBM on financial, functional and operational level
High level of drive and motivation to ensure delivery of a broad range of outputs simultaneously
Proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely and in clear language
Use judgement and experience to determine how to handle complex requests and varying timescales, make judgements quickly and consistently
Solid relationship management and collaboration skills, ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence with peers across the organisation
Strong interpersonal skills, proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels across the Group
Practical experience of major business tranformation activities
Proven abilities in managing virtual teams and working across cultures in a global business context
