Role Reporting to the Library Manager in New York and part of the Information Services Group (ISG), the Information Specialist will work closely with other ISG members, and bankers. The Information Specialist will provide research support primarily to Jefferies' UK, European, Australian and Asian-based bankers as well as Investment Banking Management.
The key responsibilities are:
Provide business information on a timely basis in user friendly formats to bankers and other investment banking personnel as necessary.
Fulfil requests for company information, financial information, market research, and industry data.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of information sources.
Assist the Library Manager with subscription requests and training sessions for bankers.
Assist in the evaluation of external information sources.
Qualifications Person Specification
The following skills and experience are required for this role:
Sound knowledge of business information sources and online services including T1.com, SDC, Dealogic, Capital IQ, Factiva, Mergermarket, Perfect Information, Amadeus, and Bloomberg.
Excellent communication skills.
Proven experience of business research in a financial environment.
Strong IT skills including knowledge of MS Office.
The ability to manage expectations, negotiate deadlines and handle a high volume of urgent requests.
