To carry out independent credit review that includes review of loan appraisal on a post approval basis in accordance with industry best practice
Be responsible for evaluating the quality of credit process and credit management in the following areas:
Credit risk assessment including deviations of product guidelines/policies as well as thoroughness of approval process
Credit decisions made are in accordance with the bank's credit strategy, credit risk policy and relevant legal and regulatory requirements
Effectiveness, appropriateness, accuracy and/or timeliness of credit monitoring activities, risk rating, credit classifications and provisioning levels
To perform Post Mortem Review on Non Performing Accounts that includes to determine the root causes and suggestion for improvement
To prepare well written, objective, timely and recommendation based reports to various Committees for approval and/or information.
Manage stakeholder relationships with Senior Management and build relationships with key Head of Business and/or Departments
Maintain subject matter expertise in credit risk management processes
To conduct or facilitate knowledge sharing session with Credit Officers or any related team/department
To provide feedback and consultative advice on credit matters within the bank
To liaise with the Internal Audit, Group Audit (Credit Risk Review) or regulator (BNM/MAS) and address any concerns raised, if required.
At least 5 years of experience in credit risk management with comprehensive knowledge of credit processing and evaluation of Corporate and Commercial loans. Similar experience in SME and Retail loans is an added advantage.
A complete understanding of credit risk analysis and ratings assignment process coupled with strong product knowledge. The candidate is expected to be an expert in credit risk and able to provide qualitative feedback on areas of potential credit weaknesses and deficiencies in the bank's loan portfolio.
Strong analytical and quantitative as well as IT skill is a must.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as good command written and spoken English is a necessity
Acquired positive working attitude including willingness to accept new challenge, innovative, resourceful, etc.
A proactive approach and be able to drive a task/project with minimal required supervision, with an emphasis of effectiveness, accuracy and efficiency as well as an end product that can be presented to the Senior Management
An ability to multi task and work under tight deadlines, adherence to deadlines is a must
Professional qualification/Master/Honours Degree or its equivalent, preferably in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Statistics or other related / suitable disciplines from a recognized University.
Experience in auditing or exposure to internal audit functions is an added advantage.
