The Asia CIB Technology Production Management team is a highly skilled, specialist global team that directly supports the Corporate & Investment Bank Business applications and critical Business flows.
J.P.Morgan is looking for an experienced application support manager to define, initiate and drive forward a prioritized book of work in the region to further improve stability, technology innovation and team engagement. The role would also require the need to drive global projects and deliveries particularly focused around junior talent recruitment and engagement.
The ideal candidate is likely to be a senior application support team technologist or a manager who has extensive experience working in a Production focused organization. You should be able to work independently, have experience of project delivery and be able to lead diverse working groups to ensure there is continuous delivery of a number of high profile initiatives in a highly matrixed global and regional organization.
The role requires, strategic planning, project management, and program oversight experience with a specific focus on technology stability and improvements. Experience in organizational transformations, as well as experience in DevOps, ChatOps and SRE practices would be a distinct advantage.
The key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Provide overall project/program management for the key headlines projects for the Asia CIB Production Management Team.
Define, initiate and deliver on initiatives focused on improving stability, technology innovation and team engagement.
Engage and liaise with CIB Production Management leaders in the region to ensure that these key projects are progressing to plan. Identify and resolve any road blockers to the delivery of these key projects.
Specifically the role will have direct accountability of one key project to improve start of Business readiness across the Asia region. This will therefore require the role to be in Sydney Australia in order to drive start of day monitoring improvements, functional health check adoption and automation across all the LOBs in the CIB. This would require building relationships with U.S Based teams and work with them to improve their proactive monitoring.
Drive periodic reporting to global Management to provide transparency of the work streams and report issues and risks.
Work with the Global CIB Production Management 'Management team" to drive a number of global initiatives focusing on junior talent pipeline, ChatOps, SRE and Dev Ops adoption for the global organization.
Work with colleagues in USA and Asia which would require early and late night calls.
In addition the role would also require incident management leadership for the Australia CIB Business. There are a number of critical Business function in Australia which need leadership around Production incident command & control/oversight.
The role would also require engagement with the Capital Markets teams in Australia to provide local personnel management & oversight.
This role requires a variety of skills, including:
Ideally 10 years' experience in Technology; Production support experience preferred; Application Development experience a plus
Ability to perform under pressure
In-depth knowledge and understanding of Dev Ops and SRE practices, skills and tools
Broad understanding of technology frameworks across mainframe, midrange and distributed technologies
General understanding of Financial Services and key drivers of business performance
Influential and ability to exercise judgment and sound decision-making under pressure
Excellent communication skills, able to communicate with senior Technology and Business management
Ability to influence others across all contributing teams and disciplines
Strong team player, ability to foster relationships from both a business and technical point of view
ITIL training and certification preferred
Committed to process improvement, LEAN and/or Six Sigma training a plus
Experienced with Technology Incident Management practices and procedures.
