The Role Responsibilities
The Manager, Sustainability Engagement helps support the implementation of the Bank's sustainability strategy by coordinating internal engagement between the Sustainability function and other internal teams and external stakeholders in support of progress against the Group's sustainability strategy and targets.
Support the Bank's sustainability governance by providing secretariat support for internal committees including the Sustainability Forum and Sustainable Finance Working Group
Help maximise the effectiveness of committees through engaging Forum and Working Group members, providing insight and guidance on sustainability matters
Monitor and support continued development of the Sustainability Work Plan, overseen by the Sustainability Forum
Maintain committee Terms of Reference, meeting packs and minutes / actions arising
Coordinate engagement with the Group's external sustainability stakeholders such as civil society organisations and investors, including maintaining a record keeping system
Liaise with key internal teams to support and document engagement with sustainability stakeholders
Support preparation of documents for internal use outlining key themes identified in engagement and monitoring
Coordinate internal stakeholder engagement across business and support functions to develop responses to sustainability indices such as Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), FTSE4Good and CDP
Review the analysis prepared by sustainability analysts for accuracy, and identify additional Group public disclosures which are relevant to their analysis
Utilise insights from engagement, and review of indices and analysis, to help shape the Group's public disclosures via its own channels including Annual Report and Sustainability Summary
Our Ideal Candidate
Knowledge of key sustainability issues and their relevance to the banking sector grained through academic studies in sustainability and economic development or a work experience on sustainability related topics
Demonstrated experience managing relationships with sustainability-focused stakeholders
Strong oral and written communication skills and experience preparing documents for external publication
Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, with excellent time management
