Team Overview The Private Assets business, created in 2017, draws together Schroders' investment expertise in private equity, real estate, infrastructure financing, insurance linked securities and private debt. Overview of role Specific areas of involvement include, but are not limited to:
Working with Investment teams, Distribution and the Head of Product Development for Private Assets to perform initial vetting and viability of new product ideas
Project manage new initiatives, build a business case, define scope and timeframe
Work with various internal stakeholders (e.g. Legal, Tax, Compliance, Operations, Risk) to assign responsibilities
Coordinate the drafting of fund offering materials
Coordinate obtaining internal approval, where needed external regulatory approval or notification of new products through to soft launch
Manage the existing product line and adapt, as appropriate, to changing requirements
Conduct research and analysis of industry trends, competitors and product characteristics
Skills required Specific skill sets required include, but are not limited to:
Possess knowledge of fund structures and domiciles
Excellent project management skills
Strong analytical skills, meticulous, proactive and able to think creatively
Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with colleagues and external parties of all levels, team player
Exposure to alternative asset classes would be advantageous
Personal attributes The ideal candidate shall have a university degree and possess strong quantitative and deductive reasoning skills. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of financial products, strong initiative and be able to follow through on projects, and lead project teams and initiatives independently. It is preferable that candidates have previous relevant experience of product development (or possibly product management or product specialism, dependent on scope of role) in an asset management background. The candidate must be a team player with careful attention to detail and a willingness to support all varied tasks. IT proficiency, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint are a must.
