Job Purpose (Job Summary): The primary role of this position is to develop, close new business from and maintain strong relationship with institutional prospects / clients in China. This person will act as the General Manager for the WOFE entity as well. This will involve developing new leads, preparing RFPs, giving presentations to prospective clients, ensuring client and prospects receive full and efficient service and promotes products managed by our office to other offices in the Group. The incumbent will also assist in marketing efforts and involve in servicing institutional clients, and work with the team in Hong Kong and China. He / She will be based in Beijing with travel within Mainland China expected.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
Develop new institutional business opportunities with key prospects, clients and consultants from China
Lead and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers in financial institutions
Work on detailed analysis such as asset liabilities, data research and analysis, investment return, etc. in particular for institutional clients
Develop strong relationships with prospects and clients of targeted institutions, including but not limiting to sovereign wealth funds, financial institutions, insurance companies and regulators, leading to new mandates or injections into existing funds
Servicing to the assigned clients to ensure retention of assets / mandates
Complete RFPs, consultant reports and client reports in a timely and efficient manner
Customize investment solutions to suit investment needs of prospects and clients
Contribute ideas for new products which will be suitable to the markets assigned, good quality of ideas initiated to enhance corporate or product position in the market
Lead or participate in other ad-hoc projects, regional and local sales campaigns as assigned
Achieve activity statistics for the Asia Pacific region
Obtain and act on feedback from other departments /offices/ Investment centres on the quality of support / work done
Manage after sales service and development
Act as a key contact or responsible person for office register and set up
Obtain and act on feedback from prospect/ client, if any
Work Experience / Knowledge:
8 - 10 years of experience in the financial market, with at least 2 years' China business experience and 2 years in managerial role
A good understanding of rules and regulations of the financial market in China
Experience in client servicing and dealing with sophisticated institutional clients at a senior level
Proven track record in successful sales efforts with Institutional clients
Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required:
Strong relationship and network with regulatory bodies and key financial institutions in China
Experience in handling clients with China background is a must
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Native Mandarin with excellent command of spoken and written English
Strong analytical skills and good understanding of financial concepts
Innovativeness in coming up with new ideas in response to prospects' needs
Good time management skills, able to meet deadlines and multi-tasking
Computer skills, both numeric (essential) and creative
Accurate, articulate, presentable and showing initiative
Station in Beijing and travels are required
Formal Education: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)
Degree in finance / marketing or related discipline graduated from Universities in China
