The GFCC Compliance Team
Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC) is part of our Global Compliance organization and is responsible for developing and implementing the requirements and standards for the firm's Enterprise-Wide Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions Programs. GFCC is comprised of the core functions (KYC, Sanctions, Investigations and Transaction Monitoring), business-aligned teams and regional teams.
This AML Compliance Officer (AMLCO) posting is for a position with the Singapore Country Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) team, within GFCC, whose mandate it is to ensure all relevant local Singapore AML/CFT regulatory obligations are met and focus on the day-to-day AML tasks in support of the Country/CIB and CB LOB MLRO. This AMLCO is expected to work closely with the various internal stakeholders from LOB, Compliance and Corporate functions on country deliverables as well as managing external regulatory and audit interactions.
Designated individual responsible for local AML compliance in the country
Assist and support the designated Singapore Country MLRO on the following day-to-day responsibilities:
Develop and implement AML procedures and processes in partnership with the CIB and CB LOB to comply with the Firmwide and Country AML Program and Standards
Work with respective Singapore LOB MLROs on key country AML initiatives and AML/KYC procedures to drive country consistency (e.g. Country Appendix X)
Communicate any changes in the AML Program and related procedures to the respective lines of business as well as all employees within the booking location
Review and approve AML/KYC referrals from various functions (e.g. GFCC KYC Advisory, CB Advisory, WCOB, LOB)
Conduct routine reviews e.g. quarterly SG FATF wire review, High volume alerts review.
Review and assess with MLRO if STR needs to be filed for referred AML investigations from the AML Investigations team, LOB etc.
Draft STR reports for MLRO review and reporting
Assist with Regulator or Law Enforcement requests for information
Handle internal, external audit reviews and regulatory exams on AML/KYC.
Complete and provide Country input to AML/CFT risk assessments
Provide ongoing training to LOBs within the country and global WCOB
Provide support on periodic/independent AML/KYC testing
Attending country-specific working meetings with Singapore xLOB MLROs and regional GFCC advisory teams, MLRO feedback loop calls as well as regional GFCC forums
Assist with ad hoc deliverables as needed
Required Skills and Experience:
Possesses a Law / Accounting / Business / Finance Degree
Proven experience operating under a strict regulatory environment, preferably in a large financial institution
Basic knowledge of AML/CFT requirements - locally, regionally as well as FATF and other international standards
Preferred experience in AML/KYC subject matter, and experience in dealing with regulator and enforcement agencies
Experience in using databases such as World Check, Lexis Nexis, Factiva, etc. is a plus
Proficient in MS Office (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
Good communication and organizational skills
Strong analytical and problem solving ability
Ability to work under pressure and multi-task
Ability to contribute as an individual or team player
Results oriented team player
