Our client is a leading Real Estate Asset Manager that works closely with organisations in the Social Housing space to help unlock capital held in existing social homes for new development and to promote the delivery of new social homes. The company does not develop or manage social homes directly, but rather works in close collaboration with Registered Providers and others who provide these services. Their investment activity supports housing providers with the provision of permanent capital to facilitate their objective of delivering more social homes and offers investors the potential for sensible, risk adjusted real returns with regular dividend distributions.
Based at the company head office in Central London, this is one of a small number of "Group" roles that will support a range of investment strategies. It will require the management of a small team and you will have full responsibility for the running of a 'no surprises' Group finance function. The successful candidate will have a key role in reporting to and supporting the Directors in all aspects of the running of the Group. There are a number of funds under management, one of which is a listed REIT. As CFO you can expect a wide ranging, challenging and highly influential position within the business.
The role requires a qualified, experienced, and technically strong finance professional with a track record gained in broader financial management, ideally within a regulated environment. You should have enjoyed a successful career to date within the Real Estate sector, Private Equity and/or Fund Management. Knowledge of the management of tax structuring would be considered advantageous, as would somebody with FCA approval.
There are significant plans for growth over the next 5 years and the successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a passion for business and possess a willingness to step out of their comfort zone in what is a highly entrepreneurial environment. It is also important to ensure that the correct processes and controls are in place in order to help the business achieve its goals. Essential characteristics for the role include a willingness to take on a broader role, with strong project management skills and an ability to provide financial business partnering to the other members of the senior management team. Candidates should be able to demonstrate energy, drive, commercial acumen, flexibility and the self-assurance to take responsibility and 'get things done'.
