Overview of the Department/Section European Business Division (EBD) is MUFG's Corporate Banking division for the EMEA region. The London office is the regional headquarters for the EMEA region. The Corporate Banking division is primarily responsible for managing, marketing and monitoring the bank's relationships with corporate customers. The Telecoms, Media & Technology (TMT) team is responsible for managing existing customer relationships with approximately 15 UK & Irish domiciled corporates within the sector, including marketing the bank's products and monitoring risk. In addition, the TMT team is responsible for helping to coordinate the delivery of the TMT sector strategy for EMEA which entails a combination of business development, marketing and monitoring. The team is also responsible for coordinating marketing efforts with TMT sector teams in other regions, including Americas and Asia. The TMT team is a front-office client facing team.
Main Purpose of the Role
This is a marketing support role with client facing time particularly at the Assistant Treasurer level.
The role involves supporting the team managing the TMT UK & Irish corporate customer portfolio and to meet their revenue and product cross sell targets.
The role involves supporting the team in coordinating and delivering the TMT sector strategy across the EMEA region with a focus on supporting the marketing strategy.
The role involves regular interaction with internal product offices, risk and compliance departments.
The role requires pitchbook preparation, pipeline monitoring, data verification, planning and problem solving.
The role involves timely delivery of credit/market line commitments and return on capital/profitability analysis.
To provide transaction and marketing support in connection with the delivery of corporate and investment banking products to meet pre-identified and new customer needs.
To prepare customer call reports following meetings and conference calls to ensure accurate record keeping and to ensure there is thorough follow up using the Salesforce system for opportunity pipeline monitoring and closing.
To be closely involved in transaction reporting for marketing and credit monitoring purposes, and to prepare timely memos for senior management for early warning of M&A situations or credit challenges.
To be closely involved in the preparation and submission of credit applications from a business promotion point of view and to be responsible for all linked processes including liquidity applications, compliance documentation/ KYC, and overall quality control.
To have a key role in the organisation of internal Deal Screening materials with a focus on the MUFG business case and returns, using MUFG RORA methodology.
To diligently update client records on the bank systems and liaise with middle and back office to ensure this is done.
To prepare pitchbook materials in conjunction with Product Offices for pitch books at customer meetings.
To have a significant involvement in Account Planning for the customers managed in the team to ensure that cross sell is effectively achieved and monitored.
To circulate selective TMT news, where applicable, to interested colleagues to identify opportunities.
To develop a deep understanding of the TMT sector and to share knowledge with interested colleagues to identify opportunities.
To support the collaboration with RM's across the EMEA region and other regions on TMT related initiatives.
To assist with general projects as they may arise as directed by Senior Management. Work Experience Essential:
Experience in a corporate banking marketing/credit department, or a customer facing role.
Knowledge of/enthusiasm for telecoms, media and technology useful.
Time spent in relevant banking product function useful.
Some evidence of deal/transaction experience useful.
Skills and Experience Functional / Technical Competencies: Essential
Must be numerate.
Good written and spoken English essential.
Excellent relationship building and communication skills
Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel Powerpoint, Word)
Some TMT sector knowledge.
Understanding of credit/risk assessment.

Education / Qualifications: Essential
Degree level (BSc/BA). Preferred:
Degree ideally in business, accounting, economics or legal.
